Packing & Shipping is Our Business
Since The Shipping Place opened its doors in 1999, it has become recognized as the area's premier one-stop pack & ship center for consumers and businesses alike. Our Owner
Ted Timmons, the owner of The Shipping Place, grew up in central Indiana. At the ripe old age of 17 he joined the US Marine Corps and served from 1974 to 1978. After completing his tour in the Marine Corps, Ted attended Purdue University, graduating with a BS in Computer Technology. He then worked as a programmer for 20 years. Late in his programming career Ted started The Shipping Place. Initially, he continued working as a programmer while getting The Shipping Place off the ground. In 2003 Ted started running the business himself on a full time basis and has been fully committed to it ever since.
Looking back on his time in the Marine Corps, Ted will tell you it was a unique experience which has served him well since his honorable discharge. The Marine Corps motto is Semper Fidelis, or in Marine terms Semper Fi, which in Latin means Always Faithful. Ted believes you should always be faithful to yourself, your family, friends, customers and business associates. He feels honesty is the key to real success in all areas of life and business. These ideals may seem old fashioned but they sum up the standard Ted tries to live up to every day.
Stop by The Shipping Place sometime. Chances are you'll find Ted there, cheerfully helping his customers find the best solutions to meet their packing and shipping needs.
